General:

The 4 speaker stereo was removed from all models. Now, 6 passive speaker prep was standard, and AKTIV was optional on higher models.
"Key In" power is used on the radios for the first time. Previously, the radios were "always on", meaning you had to manually switch them off; now, all you had to do was remove the key.
Height adjustable seats (both passenger and driver) are now standard on all models.
Mexican plant ends engine/transmission production 7/91 (end of 91 model year).
California 8 valve models get Digifant 1. California 16v models still have Motronic, but they get an EGR system.

Golf GL/GTI:

Changes from last year:
GTI now has solid front rotors and rear drums, and also loses sport suspension.

There was also an unannounced production run of 1991 Jetta GL Diesels, and, despite the claim in all VW brochures that the Diesel was only available as a 4-door, also came in 2 door. The response was overwhelming, and led to the release of the ECODiesel, described below.		 Options (Canada):

Jetta GL ECODiesel:

Released in January, 1991, there was overlap between the ECOdiesel and the regular Diesel in 1991. The ECODiesel only came in 4 door. It had a K04 turbo, catalytic converter, and no boost enrichment (good for 62HP). All previous TDs had garret T3, boost enrichment, and no catalytic converter (good for 68HP). The TD was sold in Canada throughout the A2's run, but was eliminated in the US back in 1987. The naturally aspirated diesel had 52HP, and no catalytic converter. It was dropped in 1987 as well, and then re0introduced this year. Reception was so good, VW decided to release the ECODiesel.

Jetta Carat:
